Tosan Moshaveran Espadana Co., as the executor of the DRI (direct reduced iron) production project called Qaem 2 project, located in Isfahan Steel Company, has started its activity since March 2019. Its products include DRI, pellet fine, fine DRI and DRI sludge.

One of the most important applications of DRI is in the production of raw iron and steel and its use in induction furnaces (i.e. DRI can replace up to 50% of scrap). Application of sponge iron is a big change in the continuous casting of the steel industry.

Iran, is rich in many natural resources for the production of steel by the direct recovery method. Direct reduced iron is a suitable substitute for iron waste, as a result, a high percentage of raw materials to meet the melting requirements of steelmaking units can be provided through DRI instead of using waste.
